ROGER LAUTE

We are students of Dutch studies at Palacký University in the Czech city of Olomouc. The university was established in 1573 and it is the second oldest university in the Czech Republic and the oldest university in Moravia, which is the eastern region of the Czech Republic. There are eight faculties and more than 24.000 students studying at this university. The students form one fifth of all the inhabitants in Olomouc.

 

The five of us are now students of the second year of our master degree in Dutch studies. This also means that it is the last academic year for some of us. One of our classes this year is about Dutch and Flemish culture and our task is to create a virtual exhibition and a catalogue about the Flemish photographer, Roger Laute, in Czech and in Dutch. We focused not only on his life but mainly on his work.
